SDGs Young Creator 2026 – What Our Next Meal Has to Do with Sustainability

GCNT EXPO 2026 at True Digital Park, Bangkok, brought businesses, government, the United Nations and young people together. Its theme, From SHOCK to SHIFT, encouraged discussion about moving from problems to action. Three Sustainable Development Goals help explain why that matters.

SDG 2 – Zero Hunger

Everyone needs reliable access to nutritious food. Droughts can damage harvests and affect farmers’ incomes. Supporting sustainable farming helps protect food supplies. At school, checking why food gets wasted is a practical place to start.

SDG 13 – Climate Action

Climate change is not only about hotter days. Floods, droughts and extreme heat can disrupt the way we grow food. The Expo’s energy discussions highlighted the need for change. Cleaner energy and better preparation for climate impacts both matter.

SDG 14 – Life Below Water

Healthy oceans provide food and support fishing communities. Pollution and overfishing threaten both. Keeping rubbish out of waterways helps, but lasting progress also needs responsible fishing and protection of marine ecosystems.

These goals connect through everyday life. Protecting the climate and oceans also helps protect our food. The Expo brought different groups into the conversation; progress depends on what happens next. We can start by asking one simple question: what could our school or community do better?
